JAM, my small revenge

I have to share this great story: early this week on my ride home, as I was cutting through a parking lot this big van gets behind me and I hear the guy start cursing, no big deal. When I turn out of the lot and onto the street he gets stuck waiting for cars to pass (one lane residential/office area) approaching a T intersection, I move into the lane to make a left turn at the T. About 100 feet from the stop sign he comes zooming up behind me and shouting, so I come to a standing stop at the sign and look both ways (twice) before moving on (despite there being no cars J ). After the turn I have to stay in the lane because the parking lane is all full of cars for another 200 feet or so, now he is behind me revving the engine with nowhere to go (oncoming traffic) and screaming… when the parking lane opens up I move over to let him pass, but ever the JAM he leans over and starts screaming obscenities at me, so I hit my new Air Zound air horn *WAAA* and don’t hear a thing he says. Then its quiet for about 5 seconds as he drives slowly past (I think he was trying to figure out what the heck just happened) and he begins to shout again *WAAA* goes the horn, again he “$%#WAAA*”, then I hear “$*WAAA* then some more “*&%*WAAA* *WAA*” I must have beeped over him 6 or 7 times, each time he got more and more agitated. I laughed all the way home thinking of him sitting there shaking and red faced, not even able to curse at that little bike nerd…

I’m smiling even now, that horn is one of the best $20 bike toys EVER

*WAAA**WAAA*

I need to buy myself one of those. Great story. If we're not careful, though, we'll start making the papers with this stuff!

I wonder how they fare against dogs...

My revenge today was a little more physical... Posted it here:

How was MY commute today?

I need one of those Air Zounds, too.

Dunno if I ever posted this, but one of my favorite things I ever did on a commute (in terms of dealing w/cars & drivers) was on Chambers street, just after the bridge. I had just come from Brooklyn and was passing the Brookyn-bound traffic on chambers which, as always, is completely backed up, waiting to make the turn to the bridge. There's a guy about six car lengths back just LAYING on the horn and cursing out his open window. I slowed down, right next to him, and in between horn blasts, caught his eye, smiled and said, "Wow, that's totally working!" He turned like seven shades of red & I rode off.
