Anybody commute with a front rack?
I am considering switching th a Cetma front rack (www.cetmaracks.com). Thoughts?

Those racks look interesting for fairweather commuting. Or for carrying 40 mailing envelopes. But if you are a year rounder (rain/shine) I'd suggest some lowrider racks and ortlieb front panniers. I ride everyday with fronts only and like the balance much better than a load of stuff on the rear. You gotta pack the bags evenly side to side though.

I ride with a front rack and bag most days and prefer the accessibility of that set up.
Front loads are a difficult issue so I won't confuse myself by trying to explain it. Many old city bikes (sometimes called porteurs) handle better with high front loads. Road and touring bikes generally handle better with low riders. It depends on the distance, speeds, and geometry of the frame in question.
Front racks in general are great options and the CETMAs have been improved significantly in their newer versions. Absolutely the most utilitarian rack out there. I wholeheartedly encourage you to try it -- big high front racks are great things on bikes.
