Has anyone found Carradice to be unresponsive?

I ordered a pannier from Carradice a week ago, and beyond the initial receipt of payment, I've received no status update on my order. Attempts to contact them via phone and email have been futile.

Has anyone else had this issue?

noob

WHATS UP PATCHWORK?

welcome on the Board ...

1) carradice is well Known to run on their own time! they are pokey pokey pokey, any of the US distributors will tell you that .

2) Curious, why didnt you order it from a USA dealer ?, Like Harris Cyclery , Peter White or Wallingford Bike parts? They would have it for you in the same time frame and give you a much easier means of finding out things.

again there is Normal time and carradice time.

"John"

I went with Arkel. Great products, prices and outstanding service. If Carradice does not work out, checkout Arkel.

+1 on the Peter White route for Carradice. He can let you know what he has in stock and it will arrive to you very quickly. I have 2 Carradice seat bags and love them, however I might be just a bit biased since my parents both hail from the UK.

Thanks for the words of welcome.

Y'know, I called a re-seller (not Peter White), and I was transferred to a phone that kept ringing, and ringing...

So, out of pure impatience, I hung up and ordered from Carradice directly, online. I had read a lot about their fabulous customer service when it came to their products, not knowing that it didn't extend to actually acquiring the product. Perhaps if I had dug a little deeper, I would have found and contacted Mr. White.

Waiting for warm weather and my pannier...

I ordered a Carradice saddle bag from Saint John's Street Cycles in the UK. Arrived in U.S. about two weeks. Really good communication. I found Peter White shipping slow - not recommended if there is a problem. Does not respond to emails or phone calls.

[QUOTE=patchwork]Thanks for the words of welcome.

Perhaps if I had dug a little deeper, I would have found and contacted Mr. White.

That can be an ordeal in itself, depending on his mood the day you call, in my experience!

If I want to deal with a know-it-all dealer, I'll deal with one who gives good service. And really does have a Real Deal know-it-all who really does know it all on the premises - Harris Cyclery.

Update - Carradice UK got back to me. They're are ready to ship.

However, they are going on their Easter Holiday break and won't be back until the 16th. So, if I can't wait until then, I should cancel my order.

Sigh.

So, I cancelled my order w/ them and called Peter White. Hopefully my bag will be here before Chicago thaws out (again).

Thanks gang.
