Other cyclists seen on commute

Just for fun. This is just a small fraction of course.

Looks like Raleigh isn't the only place where most cyclists seem to be on the sidewalk.

saw my first fellow bike commuters yesterday, one was in full regalia so he might of just been on a morning ride, the other fellow was in standard street clothes headed into Corporate Park-land. I've been commuting since March.

Riding on sidewalks is not an issue around here - they don't have them, you're lucky if you get a decent shoulder

I think that there are only three or four people who are where they should be/doing what they are supposed to do... i.e. chickie riding against traffic... (DEEP BREATH!)

What about that one guy who is way over on the curb wow. I try to avoid WOL lanes they seem more trouble than they are worth.

Do NOT post any of those photos to the VC forums!

That one guy in red, riding both on the sidewalk and against traffic, is begging to get hit.

Edit: Especially if the other side of that road has the same WOL for him to use.

That guy in red is riding on a 25mph road with WOL striped with a BL.

This road has been identified as needing traffic calming and improved ped/cyclng facilties.
Bike lanes are going to be put into chutes at intersections, chokers added to road, etc.
I ride this road maybe once every 2wks (to go to the LBS on the way home) and rarely have I encounted a car traveling over 30mph. Every time I encounter just as many wrong way cyclist as correct way.
Anyway, the most likely way to get hit on this road is by other cyclists riding every which way.

It's pretty rare for me to see other cyclists, but when they come out, there's quite a few. For whatever reason, this past Monday I think I saw about 8 other cyclists, which is a record for me. Only one was going my way.
I didn't see a single other bike this past winter when there was snow on the ground.
It's been raining for two days now and there's supposed to be thunderstorms this afternoon, so not too surprisingly, I've been alone on the roads again.
