My full commute to work:
https://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2017444
My usual bike/train/bike route:
https://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2017449 - has an extra mile or so in it for my after-train ride in Whitby, but I didn't bother doing that wee part.

Here's my short but sweet route:
https://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2017419
If you like this site, you might really like veloroutes.org. It lets you trace a route the same way... following whatever route you choose rather than basing it on roads. Just click the Hybrid option to get the satellite overlay so you can see trails and MUPs as well as roads. The cool thing about veloroutes is that it includes elevation as well as distance traveled. You get a nice elevation chart of the route, and it gives you stats like the total elevation gain and maximum grade.
Here is my same route (but heading from the office to home in terms of the elevation chart) on veloroutes:
https://veloroutes.org/bikemaps/?route=14833
Did I say short but sweet? I meant short but wicked given the 500 feet of climbing in 4.5 miles.
