Homemade Bike Rack & Need Sticker Links
I'm on vacation through Labor day and decided to reclaim some garage space. I get tired of leaning bikes against cars and mowers and tool boxes so I stole a design from Delta. It took me a couple hours to build but the hangers are positioned specifically for the bike that is on it. Each hanger only has two screws into the main vertical beam, so as the fleet changes the hangers can be repositioned. I put my wife's Jamis on the bottom so she doesn't have to lift it so high and risk dropping it on herself or a lower bike. Opposite her bike will be my commuter when it's done and above it my road bike. I figure I don't care to lift a 30 lb bike over my head everyday. All the wood is from my scrap pile and the 7/8" dowels are from a broken end table keeping the cost limited to the electricity used to run the saw and recharge my drill and compressor tank. I noticed the dowels are fairly slick so I stretched out an old tube and blew it on the dowels with my compressor. This keeps the bikes from slipping and also provides some paint protection.
I built the work stand for projects, but it needs a good quality bench clamp to keep the bikes in place while wrenching. For now it holds my commuter project.
I saw a thread some time ago that I should have bookmarked. It had pics of different stickers people have on their bikes. If anyone has a link to that thread or other good pics of stickers, please reply here. My paint scheme for my commuter got shot down by powdercoating limitations and cost, so I'm leaving the frame as is but covering it in stickers.

Nice. I would put some locks on the bikes though.
Send me an SASE and you can have a couple of the stickers in my sig file.

One of the stickers I was looking for said something like,"You'd be happier if you were on a bike."
