Sidi Dominator 5 Loricas for $190... Good Price?

I was looking to buy the Bullet 2 Mesh model, and called the store https://www.lickbike.com/index.shtml about them, but they did not have my size (42 whole) in stock. They did offer to sell me the Dominator 5 Loricas, a "step up", I was told, for $190. Apparently they gave me a discount since they were out of the Bullets; their normal price is $230. I've read some great comments about them here, so I went ahead with it. I was also told that there wasn't much difference between the mesh and Lorica variants - that it was mainly appearance. What do you think?

Not a smokin deal, but about as good as you're going to get.

By comparison, Performance sells them for $240. With the 20% coupon that ends today that's 192.

The Dominator is a very nice shoe. I bought a pair for myself and unfortunately they just didn't agree with my flat feet. After two trips to work I had to put them on ebay. I think they sold for $160ish.

Yes, I'm sorry, you're right. I have the Genius 5 mesh for road biking, and I have a pair of Dominators that I use daily for the commute and for mountain biking, and a pair of Storm 3's for the winter. They're all fantastic. I guess the point is if you can be patient and tenacious, good deals really do come along, especially coming into the end of the season and over the winter. I did not pay even close to full price for any of mine. If you're in a hurry, then you may have to pay more, but IMO they are the best shoes available.

Buying Dominators is painful. Living with them is sinful
