Black Reflective Tape Night Riding: Where To Buy?

Anyone here know where to get the black reflective tape for putting on your bicycle to ride at night? Cagers shine their headlights, and you reflect back, looking like a lit up Christmas tree!

That's cheap, but too bad it only comes in 1 inch width. On eBay, I've had good experiences with these guys: https://myworld.ebay.com/doublewow (going to order more today) and https://myworld.ebay.com/mickeyracer

Black and reflective don't go so well together. Try white for max visibility.

+1 for Identi-Tape. I have a black frame, and couldn't stand using white everywhere. So I mixed it up with both black and white. I like it, and my bike is way visible...

Yeah - the black stuff is not as reflective as the white stuff, for sure, but i look dorky enough without covering my black frame with white nerd stickers (i save that for my white frame).

The silver tape can be used on the crank arms. It makes for a very noticeable left-right "flash" from behind as you pedal, and is also visible as a "spinning circle" from the sides. And since it's nearly the same color as the cranks, it's not very obvious in daylight.

No, I use black tape on the cranks too ... but I have black cranks! But yeah, it's a great place to put tape and very visible.

The black tape is cool because it is invisible on a black background in the daytime but reflects a goldish color at night. The only problem is that it is the least reflective tape and is also an engineer grade which is the least reflective class of tape. White/silver is the brightest. www.colebrothers.com/biketape .

Identi-tape has other widths of all colors. Look again, minding the box in the upper left that says "Other Widths".

You can also buy a tape slitter and make your own reflective pin striping.

There was a thread a couple of months ago about the importance of the human form being visable. I have to say I agree with this. Reflective tape on the bike is good, but reflective material on the rider is better. Especially if it does something to define the human shape.

black is only reflective at certain angles, so putting them on the rim works well IMO.
the super bright is really amazing even in daylight so I put them all over my folding bike.

I haven't tried these https://www.reflectivelyyours.com/ guys yet, but they carry SOLAS, which reflects even more light than the High Intensity.

here's black and high intensity. as you can probably see, the black doesn't reflect much head on.

This stuff reflects bright white, even though it's black in ambient light.

I've gotten white and yellow tape from StreetGlo - they also have black (reflects white) and a bunch of other colors. Their website is hard to navigate and marketed to motorcyclists, but the tape works! If you ever want cut-outs of chili peppers, palm trees, or aliens giving you the finger in reflective tape, they've got you covered.
