Commuted to school for the first time today

Actually, I cheated a little bit and rode the bus part of the way. More like most of the way. But I still had to ride my bike a couple of miles to the bus stop, then I had it available to ride on campus. The racks on the bus look good and seem secure.

The ride to the stop revealed that I'm not quite in top physical shape. The bus is good for taking me through the worst part of the ride. The gears on my bike are probably a bit tall to do much hilly riding. The area close to my house is flat, but in between home and school is a ridge and some long hills. Maybe I'll conquer them one day.

The best part about the whole thing is that with my university ID, I didn't have to pay for the bus ride. I wish I had known about that little perk a long time ago. I'm hoping to save some serious bucks from that.

Since the buses stop running sometime after 11pm, there may be days when I have to drive to school in order to pull late nights at the library or something like that. But I'm kind of proud of myself for looking at the alternatives.

Good job, keep it up, you'll love it.

Sweet deal on the bus. Dang, if there were buses around here I could ride for free, I'd get fat and lazy sitting on the bus.
Unfortunately, this is SE Michigan, Motown land. Public transportation is pretty much non-existant outside the People's Republic of Ann Arbor.
