Woke up really early--taking the long way in

In contrast to the "woke up fatigued" thread, I woke up two hours early today and couldn't get back to sleep.

The sky is clear (unusual for around here, where partly cloudy is usually the best you can hope for), it's 56°F, the winds are SSW @ 3 mph, and the only schools I'll have to go by are closed for Jewish holidays.

I think I'll take the long way to work today.

Sounds nice. How long is the "long way"?

I woke up at about 3 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep until about 5, so I'm still in a bit of a daze. My ride into work is only about 3 miles, but even that seemed like too much effort this morning. (For what it's worth, I usually take the roundabout MUP way home, which is about 7 or 8 miles, giving me a semi-decent 10+ mile round trip). Not to mention that I'm hoping I'll catch the cute girl on the way out this evening and chat with her for a bit on the Metro...

It was nice.

Today's location is two miles from home. The long loop adds 10.67 miles to that.

Depite having all sorts of extra time today, and not hammering or anything, today was a new personal best for this route. The big contributiong factor, I'm sure, was that once I cleared dwontone (the first 1.5 miles) I hit only one red light the whole rest of the way. Just kept crankin'. 'Twas nice.

Unfortunately, it's clouding up and t-storms are on the way for the ride home.
