Lightning delivery
I have a form that I must turned in at a college today before 5pm, but I left it in the house. I got off work at about 3:30pm, drove back home at about 3:50.
Since I know I'll be at a college campus where the parking and the office area are well separated, I quickly grabbed my bike, gloves and helmet and loaded it on the car. Thank God all my bike stuff are packed in a backpack. Left the house about 4:00pm.
As predicted, I have to parked at the edge of the campus. With my bike, I quickly navigate to where I need to be, cut through some grassland, walk paths, and crubs (thank God also for a non-crowded campus at the moment). Got the form in about 4:30pm and late-enrolled in a class for me and a co-worker.
Entire operations lasted less than a hour. The bike saved me at least 10 minutes off the time. First, I don't have to circle around in an unfamiliar campus with a car finding a parking space close to the building. Secondly, I can just park far away and ride in. Third, it's a lot easier to look around and ask for directions on a bike.
First time my bike have saved my butt.
(Thought it's a good story to share, that's all)

I do the same thing when I run little errands like going to the post office or ATM. Instead of driving I bike.
People seem to always be fighting for parking spaces at both the post office and ATM. I zip past all the traffic, get my errand taken care of, and then I'm out of there. And when I'm leaving I still see the same people waiting for parking spaces.
