Help choosing Novara Safari Size

Just checked REI's website and they are taking back orders for the Safari, will ship sometime around the 9th Nov. I need help choosing the frame size. My inseam is 33.75 with shoes on. The stand over height for the 18'' model is 31.1 and the 20'' is 32.9. Any suggestions? I am leaning toward the 18''. I don't have a car so I can't make the 3.5hr trip to the nearest REI.

I'm 5' 10" with a 30 inseam.....I've ridden the 18" and it fit me well......I would think that you would be a 20" ....more important the the top tube length. If you are tall and have a long reach, the the longer toptube woudl work well, but if you have long legs and short arms, then the shorter toptube of the 18" would be better. You cna always raise the seatpost.

I'm 6' w/33" inseam. I'm pretty sure mine's an 18,I'll have to check when I leave work. It fits me perfectly. The trekking bar and adjustable stem really let you dial in the fit.

Edit: yep,it's an 18.

Thanks for the help. I decided to order the 20 inch but I am afraid that it may be to big; so I am going to borrow my friends car and make the 3.5hr trip to REI just to make sure the bike fits. Is it normal to take your inseam measurement with your shoes on? The REI web site had conflicting instructions. The ordering page says to measure with shoes and the expert advice article says measure without shoes. I'm sure I can get the fit right at the store. Again thanks for the help.

My Take !

I'm 5-11 or so and my inseam, wearing tennis shoes is about 32" I hopped on a 18 and for me I thought it was a little to short. I've been to two REI's and have not been able to get on a 20 " yet.

That is one heck of a bike for the money !!!!
