Armband Radio

Do any of you use an armband radio? Which one is good? I do not listen to any FM stations or music only AM talk radio.

AM reception might be a problem for you, depending on where you live, since it's line-of-sight. Further, now that I think about it a bit, I don't know of any AM capable armband radios. I know of a number that combine FM and MP3, but not AM.

Personally, I use the MP3 capability to listen to audiobooks. Right now I'm going through the NY Times 10-minute MBA series.

BTW, there's a strong and vocal opposition to anyone listening to anything while riding. My personal opinion is that as long as you don't turn the volume up to the level where its drowning out important noises, like sirens or brakes screeching or horns, you're fine.

I use armband radios to listen to AM talk radio as well. The first one was a sony, which just recently died. It lasted about a year to a year and a half and just gave out a month ago. I was going to replace it, but I couldn't justify spending 60 bucks on an AM radio, so I bought this one and it works just fine.

I love listening to talk radio during the morning. Even more fun is calling into the CBC's traffic report lady and telling her that traffic on the bike paths is in great shape.
