Xtracycle Commuting Bags?

On my fuji touring bike I have been using these for my load daily commute. (Two Arkel T42s)
Volume 42 l. / 2550 cu. in.(pair)

They are waterproofed with some spray which helps but isn't true waterproof as I found on my monday 21 mile ride where I became completely soaked.
I just got my xtracycle freeradical attachment and while I'm out of commision till they send me a brake adapter (they sent me the 26" freeradical instead of a 700 c one) I'm pondering how to carry my stuff.
Freeradical pic (not my bike) for the curious.

I carry: Clothes for work, breakfast, lunch, Clothes for ride home, thermos, first aid kit and my water bottles when I lock up the bike and bring my bags to my desk. I have a seat bag I use for bike tools and a front little nashbar bag I use for spare batteries/glasses.

I could just throw my current panniers in the freeloaders and call it a day but I was wondering what other people use that might be better. Maybe a long trunk bag to go on top of the snapdeck?

The great thing about the Xtracycle just about anything goes. Your options include:
  • A good water proof messenger bag (handy to carry around when your bike is parked)
  • Rubber Maid storage containers
  • Kayak dry sacks
  • Kitty litter buckets
