You should see it in flash mode. It is better than any purpose built, glorified Christmas light, Halloween insert.

Haha. But make sure it's an indoor display because you just made yourself a $25 Jack-o-Lantern.

Hey, I did the exact same thing last night - first time I ever used something besides candles. I got a few comments too. 'That's cool' 'Nice flashing pumpkin' and the strange one: "I like your pumpkin, did it come like that?"

Thanks for the idea. My kids use plastic pumpkin-shaped buckets to carry their candy. Just as we were about to head out the door last night, I remembered this thread, so I put my SuperFlash in one bucket, my TL-LD1000 in another bucket, and my Dinotte 5W-AA (on flash mode) in the third bucket.
We had to dig them out from the candy every few houses, but otherwise they worked great to illuminate the buckets and make the kids more visible while we walked down the street.

You can use one of the modes on a Cateye TL-LD600 to make a Cylon pumpkin.

I should have gotten one of those cheap nashbar front racks and mounted a pumpkin on it with the flasher. Then worn a cape around my helmet. I bet the cars would have stayed away.
