Yes! don't exert yourself and take it easy. Time heals all.

Read the forums/watch movies/play games, you'll be back in the saddle in no time.

Yep, rest, fluids, and more rest are the only way to go. I used to get bronchitis with seemingly every cold when I was in H.S. The only way to clear it up was to take good care of myself and rest far more than usual. If you actually take it easy, you'll be better in no time at all.

Bronchitis can turn into pneumonia if you don't take care of yourself!!
Rest up. You'll be out of commission longer if you don't.

I got sick in Oct/07 a couple months ago and kept on riding and never got better till I took a month and a bit off to heal up and now I'm feeling way better with a little acting up cough when something triggers the throat.

Warm liquids, rest, and repeat again is how I healed up. I still think back that it was my fauly for wearing cotton on top of cotton with a fleece and shell which just kept the soaked up water on the body while the temp was ~5C and the chill set in but I did not realize it then and kept on riding and my condition worsened. Time can only heal my friend. Obey the doctors orders or you'll only be injuring yourself more without really healing. In the mean time it's a good time to look into building a DIY bike light so when you're healthier you can take your DIY and blast the night away.

Snow came early this year. Many weeks early so I lost out on the end of the year riding being ill.

I hate to say "I told you so", but... I did tell you so.

As a general rule, if you're feeling sickness rolling in, do your body, your peers, and your bike a favor. Take a rest and use some sick leave or vacation time if you have it.

Bronchitis? Lots of warm soup. I like chicken noodle and home-made egg drop soup. Also, lots of water, rest and vitamin C.

I had a bad cough a few winters ago and kept riding. My cough got so bad I finally went to the doctor, who said I had bronchitis and possibly pneumonia. Had to quit riding for a few other weeks. Sometimes you have to just listen to your body (and doctor) and take some time off.

It takes a few weeks to clear it all out..... even with medication. Years ago I had to be hospitalized for it.... get some rest and drink lots of fluid.

I've been hacking up a lung a regular intervals for the last several days. Methinks I've got bronchitis again. Dammit.

If there were a quick and easy cure for bronchitis, your doctor would have told you about it.

I've got it too, haven't had it in 6 or 7 years. There's a nasty virus going around this year, everywhere I turn there are people hacking. I haven't been on the bike in 3 weeks, and it'll probably be at least a couple of more before I try.

The thing with bronchitis is that it can cause pneumonia if you're not careful. Pneumonia can land you in the hospital. Don't be in a rush to get back in the saddle until your condition totally clears up.

Avoid breathing cold air and smokers at all costs. I used to commute with a smoker and had brochitis all winter.

Take the meds the doc prescribes. Sleep as much as possible. Moist air can help, if the doc agrees. Time heals.

Sleep...

Smokers yes, cold air........ehh.

I find I stay much healthier if I get out and stay active in the cold weather.

I came down with bronchitis which quickly became pneumonia in the period of maybe a three day time period. During the middle of summer in Charleston SC. I remember driving around with the heater blasting I was so cold.

Ugh.
