smelly head
Sometimes these days the shower in work is unavailable for a few different reasons and i find that the only part of me that gets real sweaty and smelly is my hair.
Do any of you guys suffer from this and if so does anyone know of any product that in effect do a dry wash of the hair and remove the odour.... any advice wold be great thanks |
What's this "hair" of which you speak?
My solution is to comb my hair with a bic razor.
try using hair refreshers, there are several on the market. they seem to work pretty well for women who don't want to overdry their locks by washing them every day.
I'm not sure it would be a good idea, but rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer (whose active ingredient is alcohol) would kill odor-causing bacteria.
rubbing alcohol will lead to dry and flakey scalp in a jiffy and strip your hair of moisture too. you need to consult a female here.;)

Hit the store and get a bottle of witch hazel, it's not exactly dry but it does dry fast and it kills the stink.
Just rub it in and towel it off. |
Start off by buying a clipper set for $20, put on the 1/2" guard and buzzing your hair. Take the $20 every couple of months you're not spending at the barber and buy bike toys.
or alternatively... get married, have children, and loose your hair.
- just use this!

Have you tried washing your helmet lately? :) I've found that a stinky helmet and gloves transfers easily to your head and hands.
They make a waterless shampoo. We use it at the hospital where I work. Not sure if you can buy it in a store though.
There are leave-in conditioners that will mask any smells.
I agree with ronzorini that you should probably clean or replace your helmet. BTW, you may not be able to smell any funk in your helmet until it gets wet for an extended period of time. You might want to try a dissinfectant spray. |

Wash your hair at the sink.

If the shower isn't available, what's to prevent you from washing it in a sink? As long as you don't have those auto-shutoff faucets that you need to hold down to get water, even a bathroom sink would work to wash your hair.
What exactly is the stink? Is it your head only? How long has it been going on? What's your diet like? I shower before the morning commute (washing hair too), wash my hair when I get to work, and have never had an issue.
