Anyone Commute in Connecticut?

I just got a job offer from a certain sports cable network, based in Bristol, CT. Can anyone tell me what the bike commute is like there? I lived there for a summer a couple years ago as an intern with a car, and I remember traffic being crazy, and not seeing any bikes riding around. If it's hard for me to commute to work, it will seriously affect my decision to move there. I don't want to have to get a car.

The job may be (probably will be) a lot better than my current job, but everything else in my life may suffer as a result... I am supposed to call them today with a decision, and I am wrestling with myself over what I want to do with my life! GAH!

Well I'll admit I never have been to bristol and looking it up on google maps shows a ton of towns I never heard of and I grew up all my life in Connecticut. The map does show alot of side streets in places compared to where I live now so it is possible you'd have alternate routes then a car would take.

Do you have flexible hours? I used to ride in bridgeport ct along route one and that wouldn't be possible at certain hours but when I went it was good. It also helps if you work long hours so you go in before rush hour and leave after rush hour but I guess leaving before evening rush hour or coming in later could work too if you were a slacker!

You might post in the north east regional board too to try and get some local responses.

No. Bike commuting is illegal in Connecticut.

No no. As long as you don't commute on a trike with a full fairing or body sock it is perfectly legal.
3 wheel enclosed vehicles are illegal on the roads

looks like I am taking the job. I am going to find a spot that is near enough to ride to work, and hopefully near enough to civilization to be able to do anything else. Thanks for the tips, Evblazer
