Have Flat Tire, am Annoyed!!
Yes, I have a flat tire and it does annoy me. It's on the rear of my commuter, a Nashbar cyclocross assemblage. It's a Panaracer Pasela TG 700x35 on the rear, very annoying.
It's been flat now for about three weeks and it annoys me every day and ride.
The tire is flat but, not the tube, irritating. The tire is flat in one spot instead all the way around.
My worn out pannier, left side is to blame, worthless, irritating annoying, worn out pannier! The bungee cord retaining strap left this earth a long time ago and the bag has been depressed and attempting suicide ever since by wedging itself between spokes and rack, major annoyance.
It appears that it does not want to quietly but, is intent on taking me with it to big pannier trash heap in the sky. Positively unbearable. About three weeks ago, at night of course at night, it made its most successful attempt of suicide murder by wedging between rack and spokes at say, about 20ish mph and locked up the rear tire. This was most annoying and the rear tire found it irrating in the extreme. I even smelt burnt rubber as I came to a halt. This is how I acquired my flat (spot) tire. It still annoys me, immensley!
Yes, I have engaged in the irriating, annoying and repulsive activity of sourcing and ordering new panniers and a new set of tires. New bags are Axiom Cartier pair and tires are Pana Pasela 700x32's. Shopping and ordering online is only minimally less annoying than going to an LBS. Online store had both at the same time but, still irritated me with having a higher price for 700x32 tires than the 700x35's but free shipping for order, not so annoying (exception to rule).
Now it's time to get really annoyed. All my innertubes are nominally 700cX35-45.
What am I'm going to do with all these oversized innertubes (10)? I have to take one and inflate it to a single atmosphere and compare it to the existing diameter of the inflated flat tire. It really bothers me that I paid for tubes meant for 700cX35-45 tires and they seem small enough to easily fit in 700cX32 tires that are now on order. I have heard of people using smaller diameter tubes in larger than specified tires and I can understand how that can be. We can now add betrayal to annoying, irritating and soon bothersome to list. Oops, bothersome has already made its ugly appearance!
Well, this is enough for one annoying post. I generally lose attention at about this point in a longwinded whatever.
So, what have we learned so far? Flat tires can annoy, bother and irritate you in ways that poison ivy cannot!
Happy Annoying New Year!
