My New Ride- Sirrus Hybrid
I ride a fancy carbon-fiber road frame for sport but I also commute 38 miles round trip. I just bought this Specialized Sirrus (see picture) it's pretty efficient, especially compared to the mountain bike I was riding.
I paid $250 for it (used) and it's perfect. I ditched the suspension seatpost, added clip-on campus pedals and now it's basically a bullet-proof compact road frame with bigger tires (700 x 35 slicks) and flat bars. It weighs 25 lbs.
Rack and bar ends to come...

Now that's my kind of commuter. Light and quick! Very nice, I like it.

I just bought the same bike , too. It is light and fast for me- I was used to a mountain bike..I bought it for mostly exercise ..I will commute occasionally when the weather gets better..I am thinking of just using a backpack or messenger bag for storage..let me know how your racks work out
