Best commute ever.

It's not every day that I get to sit on the back of a pro-tour team on my way into work.

Unfortunately, I didn't have the camera on me to get a shot.

My commute goes over the last bit of the upcoming prologue of the Tour of California, and the Bouygues Telecom team caught up with me at a light. I let them through, and then sat on for the mile or so onto campus. Brilliant!

And they still got swooped by a JAM who wanted to make a right hand turn from Palm Drive onto Campus Drive....

You did better than I could do... I'd be lucky to hang onto them for four pedal strokes!!

Bike Friday New World Tourist. Fenders. Lights (but the front light is in my bag in the morning). Messenger bag. Khakis and a t-shirt. Keen shoes and platform pedals.

Fortunately, they weren't going all that fast. With the aero advantage of being behind 12 or so guys (and no, I wasn't totally sucking wheel - a respectful 1/2 bike-length or so back), I didn't even have to pedal that much. I'm guessing they were just taking a spin around the race route before heading out for their real workout.
