I lowe dog walkers...
It started nicely, first really hot day in the year, so after running usual errands I decided that I can go
to Old Town (6 or so km) and see if there are any good clothes deals in the stores there... Then the whole thing gradually transformed into Shopping Run From The Hell...
1) There weren't many good sales...
2) while hunting for them it got dark. And cold. And I wore the least appropriate outfit for the occasion, - Ninja-black T-shirt.
3) I again hit something with my left crank. No BB damage this time, or so it seems...
4) On my return I tried a shortcut, but apparently missed the turn or something, and suddenly found myself in second least reputable part of town on Saturday night with grocery bag, no phone, and absolutely no Idea where I am and how to get out of there. Ok, as a student I lived in least reputable one, so I probably could deal with whatever problems that might present, but wasn't looking forward to it either.
And after an hour of aimless wandering, speeding past suspiciously-looking groups of drunk young men and reading signs@ bus stops I saw THEM. A 50-some lady and a young guy walking their dog! In my most polite and non-threatening manner I asked them how to get to botanical garden (plsace where I should have ended up If I didn't miss the turn). And miracle again, their directions were right and easy to follow even if road itself wasn't that short. Thank you Unknown Dog Walkers, thank you!
Oh, I rode into glass, (no punctures, thanks), was out of the water about half of the way and had to eat that fitness bar dry, T-shirt was stained with plaster (no idea how...)
But there is the strangest thing... On the way I could only think of dinner and shower. But when I finally got home I just had to suppress urge to refill water bottle and ride somewhere else. Am I biking junkie or what???
P.S. What a nice way to get first 100 miles and 100 nautical miles in one day. :rotfl:
P.P.S. Sorry, got too bloggy... Just couldn't help it.
