Grrrr....
I start a new job this coming Monday. My old job had it made, showers at work, lockers, nice covered bike rack. I took a ride over to my new job location today just to see my new commute and no bike rack, the only thing I found that could possibly be a place to lock it to is this skinny tree. I know bringing it inside isnt an option, well at least not right away, until my boss and coworkers get to understand my "eccentric" bike communting. Any thoughts on what to do?

Baby wipes and plenty of deodorant to start. I would put together a well thought letter to the people in charge extolling the benefits of bike commuting and why it would be good to have accommodations, even if it is just a bike rack. Things like better mental health, better productivity, less stress, better health and less insurance deductions, reduced sick day usage should all pique the attention of those looking at the bottom line.
Maybe wait a bit till you are better known and in the mean time recruit some friends in the office. For locking, see if you have a loading dock. Make friends with the loading dock crew and see if there is something there that could be arranged. Worst case, check to see if there is a lockable location somewhere in the immediate area within walking distance.

Ask them to consider putting in a bike rack.
No harm in asking.

Offer to pay half of putting in the bike rack. Althoiugh I did this with the local Lowe's hardware and they still wouldn't do it.

You shouldn't have to pay a dime for the rack. It's not like the cagers paid for the parking lot. We need to change attitudes about cycling on this continent

Cycle Year Round
I got a system put in to lock at least 3 bikes in the parking garage at work by being the second person to bring a bike inside our lab/storage area. The company president asked me to design something for locking the bikes in the parking garage. I did not want it to cost much, so I designed a set up of 6 "eye" bolts (height and distance between them) for mounting into the concrete garage wall. The company president bought the materials, drilled the holes in the concrete wall and securely anchored the eye bolts per my specs. It works great for either cable or U-locks for little cost and a minor amount of labor.
The company president enjoyed the opportunity for another do-it-yourself project.
