Bike Shoes
I'm looking for a pair of bike shoes to use on my commuter. I'm using clipless raod shoes now. I want a pair I can walk on and ones I can use during the winter. I know I'll need to gwet new pedals but that's OK. I looked at a pair of specialized today but they were mesh These would be cold in the winter.
Thanks

I migrate from LLBean Snow Sneakers to Lake MX165 to Keen H2 Sandals. And shoe covers when the weather warrants it. Lake has nice shoes, but they are expensive.

Specialized makes a winter shoe - which I've never seen - the Defroster MTB that I will probably be getting before next winter - and 1 size (euro size) larger so I can bulk up on socks. I don't want to futz with shoe covers anymore if I can help it.
For this summer, my Shimano M075 mountain SPD's were delivered this afternoon and they walk well enough for the trip from the bike barn to the locker room and should do ok for a stop at the grocery store.
I also tried a pair of mountain shoes earlier this year that looked sort of like hikers just so I wouldn't look so dorky walking in a store on the way home, but I decided they were too soft for pedaling and I pretty much look like a dork no matter which shoes I wear so I ditched them for the roady looking SPD's -- such as my new M075's and the Perl Izumi Vagabond shoes they will be replacing. Both shoes pedal quite well and are walkable enough.

They don't make Cannondale Csoles anymore but I have a pair and they are fantastic, although I must admit fast walking any distance, can get a little uncomfortable. They are good on slippery surfaces as they are more hiker-boot looking, more of an even grip, not like walking on ice skates. The soles are slightly flexable which also helps with walking.
The closest thing that Cannondale make now are these:
https://www.cannondale.com/a_a/footwe...el-5fr01.html#
The Roam.
I've still had to put cover over my Csoles twice last winter when it got to below freezing with some serious windchill thrown in, but for the rest of the winter they are great. For a winter and summer boot that looks pretty normal I would check out The Roam.
(obviously though I've not got a pair )
