Creative Zen Stone w/ Speaker: Music on Bike

CREATIVE ZEN STONE

I bought this the other day to use at the gym. Turns out it has a speaker on the back. So I had to do a quick run on bike and I clipped this to my shirt, turned the music up slightly, and jammed all the way to my short destination. It's going to be great for riding to church today.

The speaker is pretty loud. Seriously. I could hear everything else cars (engine, brakes), the wind, etc. But, I could still hear the music. Sweeetttt! It isn't shown in the pic but it comes w/ a carry case that has a clip. So you can attach this to your bike or your clothing. Preferrably clothing.

Only $40 bucks too.

THE SPEAKER IS ON THE BACK-This one is black, but I got the pink for it to stand out and to match my phone.

How is the sound on that? I imagine it would sound something like the speaker on a cell phone... extreme highs and no lows or mids.

Nice... Now I want to get rid of my original sexy white Zen Stone and get me one of those with a speaker...

I also have the orig Stone and this is tempting me to get the new one. They're dirt cheap too, which doesn't help my cause.

The speaker is great to me. I mean it isn't a BOSS stereo type sound, but while riding it plays my songs and I can sing sing sing. lol. I listen mostly to gospel so there is alot of harmony and I can hear all parts and the instruments sound good. I am especially fond of keys and horns.

I used it on my commute to church this morning. I was Jamin'..singing, and I could hear all the cars and everything still. Like my level of attention on the rode didn't go down.

This mornings commute was interesting. I realize it is hard to sing and go hard at the same time. lol. Either I am going to practice doing both and build up my ability to sing and still keep my MPH or choose one. I think singing might when. lol

I have used said Zen Stone Plus with speaker while riding (clipped it to my backpack strap) and I can vouch for its loudness. Loud enough if you place it near you.

I reviewed it on my video podcast some time back. Love it to bits.

If you need even louder sound, you can try X-mini speakers from xmi.

I have one strapped to my backpack strap and it connects to either my ipod, Zen stone plus or Nokia N82 phone, all to play music (see attached photo).

I'm at work now listening to music on my zen stone w/ ear phones. Great sound. Like I said before I mostly listen to gospel so there are a number of instruments and parts (harmony). I can hear everything clearly and great.

W/ the zen stone I don't need additional speakers. It's pretty loud. But, you probably don't have the one w/ the speaker on the stone.

Good to know I'm not the only one who loves this little mp3 player.

All the different 'speakers on bikes' systems are pretty cool solutions to the problem of "earphone isolation". (can't hear traffic, etc.)
The only issue I have is this: PLEASE don't use it on an organized/charity ride. Maybe I'm just being over-sensitive because I don't listen to any music when I ride, but few things are more irritating than riding in a group with 5 people all listening to different music on their i-Speaker-doodads.

I have the original Zen Stone too, and the new one would be great for those Sunday afternoon rides after church and at the end of the day after my commute....

I haven't been shopping for mp3 players for years... the last player I ever got was a iRiver H10...

personally, I leave the music listening for home and car/public transportation... I listen to the chorus of car horns and swearing instead.
