Hey. I rode my bike to church today too. 10 mile R/T. It was sweet. Pastor came out and was like whoaaa! Good way to save gas and exercise. lol I hate when folks say exercise though..I know I've gained some weight...so it's weird to hear ohhh good for exercise. But, I guess it we will see if it is really all about me or if folks just say that when you ride your bike...WHEN I lose weight. On a path now. More power to TDP!

Oh my bike was in the church not parked outside. And it was praising and praying and dancing right a long with me. It's like a big praise party. Heaven is going to be soo fun.

Jesus would not be driving a Hummer. Jesus would be walking, biking, or taking transit.

I might actually listen to a Mormon in Lycra.

But only about gain ratios vs. gear inches.

Well, you'd be surprised how many people assume that since I'm Christian, I must be a Republican, and since I must be a Republican, I must not care about the environment the way Democrats do, and that riding a bicycle seems awfully odd since the only reason people ride bicycles are because they're Green Freaks (who could not possibly be Republican) or Homeless.

No, really.

It's about 20 miles one-way, but the only way to get to the city where I work and go to church is a dual-lane highway. I just don't feel comfortable riding my bike on this road.

I am Christian and not Republican. Not anything really, but definitely not Republican. I care about the environment and about a lot of things on the Republicans "Moral" agenda. But, I don't hold to their to their other beliefs.

My bike won't even let me ride her to church.....I think it has to do with her past also....we have long talks about it but nothing ever comes up....ok maybe it's me and my growing up with hypocrites and fake people...

The Earth hasn't existed since the beginning of time.

I'm sure you meant something that made sense.

Idol worship is a sin. Besides there won't be anything of this earth made my man in heaven. Enjoy it here but keep in mind, its just a machine.

Depends on what you believe...not everyone believes the same things....and where you there at the beginning of time?.....do you really know it didn't exist? Just because someone wrote it in a book doesn't mean it's true. Just rhetorical questions rambling from a mind that is fried and ingested too much organic chemistry in the last two weeks. I am sure that nothing I write at this juncture makes sense, as all I see are line angle formulas and reaction mechanisms. Maybe one day I will be sane again...doubt it.

I agree. Anyone who believes something just because it's in a book isn't worth listening to.

Think he'd get his bike from The Missionary Depot?

Has anyone ever ridden these bikes? Are they X-Mart bikes, rebadged Kents or actually good bikes?

Maybe they will make those white shirts in lycra one day.

I've heard there are no headwinds, uphills or rain there.

No, I mean... the whole thing. Not littering. Not advocating the destruction of land for the mini-mall suburban sprawl. Composting. Finding useful ways to re-use old stuff instead of sending it to the landfill. That's stewardship. And it's not about global warming, usually.

It's only a bit over 2 miles round trip for me to church. I usually walk, but I ride sometimes. The only time I drive is if it's raining (I commute in the rain but not to church) or if I have to carry food, tools or supplies.

+10 I am a Christian and I am probably pretty green/small carbon footprint blah blah blah compared to the average American. But I don't do it (biking, composting, gardening, using things until they fall to pieces instead of replacing them) to be green I do it because I believe it is wrong to be wasteful. I think that focusing on not being wasteful of the resources given to you is probably much more green in the end then focusing on being green.

Dude, I am not sure you should be riding your bike to church:
Coult. is not exactly respected in the moderate church community, and only in a few of the conservative community. As far as the quote, you'd be very hard pressed to hear that from any pulpit regardless of it's denomination.

So please don't color religion as participants in her silly mindset.

You check the specs? Not all that bad for an entry level rig, plus they've branded it for themselves. I saw the pic and thought it was branded when I first looked at it, "La Llorona", creeped me out. Swap out the pedals and huck that badboy off some jumps.

HA, I got ya beat!!!

Though I usually vote GOP, I consider myself CONSERVATIVE FIRST.

Yes, I'm Catholic. Yes, I'm Conservative. Yes, I work in an industrial facility at a hospital, play a guitar, and do woodworking.

YES!!! I RIDE A BIKE!!!

I'm a conservative, bicycle-riding Christian who's into computer hacking and lock-picking. Figure that one out. I just stay on the legal side of those hobbies and don't cause harm to others. (I acutally work in the security biz and have to keep up on stuff like this)

Since this thread is now a confessional booth I am:
-a liberal
-foul mouthed when in a bad mood
-with conservative tendencies
-agnostic

My family went to a non denominational church when I was a kid. It was more Mennonite than anything.
Women wore the head coverings and served their men. We had to pray in certain parts of the house at certain times of the day. No radio or tv but we had cars and electricity. It pulled us so far to the right that like a rubber band most of us snapped when we became teenagers. Many of the kids were either druggies, in jail, or had children very young. Anyhow, that is a brief synopsis of my trip to becoming agnostic.
