anyone wanna see my modded and rodded Schwinn?

it's a new SSX

I converted it to 3 speed with a Shimano hub, added fenders, front and rear racks, a better fitting saddle and LED lights - I've flipped the stock bars, replaced with old north road bars, and currently have those on (flipped), although the pic shows the flipped stockers

the "pannier" is an old laptop case from a yard sale, $0.75, attached with zip ties - I only put it on if I need it for the cargo space, because I really don't like having it there much (big ol' feet hit it sometimes)

That looks pretty bad-ass for a cruiser.

no pics, next time I mount it I'll try to remember to take some - I just ran zip ties through the nylon buckles for the strap and the handle and then through the frame of my rear racktwo thick ones on the end and 4 thinner ones in the middle

held a loaf of velveeta, 2 cans of rotel and a jumbo sized bag of tortilla chips just fine the other night, as well as rented dvds and so forth

had it bungeed to the top of the rack the other night to carry wrenches and innertubes over to my friend's house to work on her bike - usually I have a daypack folded and strapped to the rack top, though, like a trunk I can wear if need be - today I bungeed the bag full of hot dogs and burger and cheese and stuff, but carried the chips and buns in the pack on my back, so they wouldn't get crushed

even going to the supermarket is an adventure with a bike

I've already got my seventy five cents worth, I reckon

You really need to get those head light mounted to the front rack, It would make it look that much cooler,

That makes me want to get one, It looks really cool,

maybe black rims to go with the black look but not really needed it still looks sweet

it came blackout stock, but when I switched to a 3 speed wheelset, I took the black wheels off -- I may end up getting the wheels powdercoated, or lacing the hub into the stockers - who knows?

rack lights would look cool - I may play with that idea

it's a blackburn rear rack I got at a yard sale for $5 and fit it to the front -- good for beer or chips or something, haven't put much weight on it yet

Sweet ride. I like the idea of remounting the head lights. Did you leave the padding in the laptop case, or did you strip it for more room? I have an old case, but the padding is so thick, I'd want to pull it for room in the bag.

Naw, leave the lights alone. (Perfect Mount) First bike I would be willing to steal to have it.
Where do you live?

I guess it's more of a briefcase than a laptop bag - there's no foam blocks or anything inside

shoot - they ripped me off - a briefcase is only worth $0.50, not $0.75

Oh I live right here at the weapons stockpile - I park the bike in the rabid dogs kennel, usually I forget to lock it -- that reminds me, did I feed those dogs this week or not? the rottweiller with AIDS looks particularly bitey this afternoon
