Does having a more vented helment make a difference?

Does having a more vented helment make a difference?
I was wanting a new hemet. So, with my order I bought a closeout helment with 21 vents. The helmet that I usually use only has 10 or twelve. Either the temp dropped quite a bit, or the vents make the difference. When I got to work. I was not even hot. Does having a helment with that many vents make a big difference, or am I just up in the night. I guess I wlll find out for my commute home tonight.

Of course. If they weren't more comfortable, then why would people buy helmets with less stryofoam (protection) for triple the price?

The helment wasn't that much. A $20 Bell something or other. But, it sounds like it is the difference. Horray. I like riding even more.

More vents = better, IMHO. I ride with a "road" helmet for both road and mtn bike riding, as they offer identical protection, but the road helmets are typically lighter with more ventilation. Oh, and there's no stupid visor...

Yes. I have a visor on mine which I find really helps with the sun in my riding position.

I use the mountain bike helmet with visor on rainy days. Visor protects the eyes.

I use my skateboard helmet on my bike because I already had it and didn't want to buy a new helmet. Last week I went to the LBS to test ride some bikes and used a loaner helmet while I was there. The difference was amazing...
