How do you prepare for your commute home at work?

Anything special you do?

I stretch a bit, put on sun block, sometimes i dunk my head band into some ice water, make sure my water bottle is fresh and clean.

i like to build up a lot of frustration, so i can pound it out on the pedals. makes for a faster ride.

I fill my water bottle and put it in the freezer before noon. Its water again after 30 minutes on the road.

I change clothes and head out the door with a smile, I look forward to the ride.

The biggest problem is getting out the door. A big worry with work. Might they make you do a double shift. Change clothes. Other than that, I pump up the tires when I leave on the way in. Give my tires a quick glance and hit the road.

About 15 minutes before I get off, I change, put my trunk pack and panniers if necessary back on the bike, and then at 5:00, I go. I'm waiting for someone to tell me I have to wait until 5:00 to get ready, but so far no one has. Besides, I never take my lawfully allowed (even mandated?) 20 minute break during the day, so I figure the company is better off doing it my way.

Log off. Change clothes. Grab water bottles from the freezer. Turn my edge on and run for the door with my bike.

I prop the break-room door open with a rock and wheel my bike out and move the rock so the door closes.

Change clothes- if changing is necessary - and apply sunscreen. I've just spent a bundle getting rid of years of sun damage on my face. It worked and I'm not going to throw my newly fresh skin out there for a redo.

Change clothes, pack the panniers, stand around and shoot the breeze with co-workers while having a cup of cold coffee and another smoke. I usually get out of there about 30 or so minutes after quitting time.

Nothing special...

Although, today we had a site appreciation event that I helped set up. So, I loaded my pannier with plenty of BBQ pork and rolls that were left over. I guess that's special!

Fill up water bottle with ice cubes, fill it with water, stick it in freezer 15 minutes or so before I leave, change, put mess bag together, ride.

In the winter I just fill my water bottle and don't bother with ice or freezers.

Head for the bathroom, take a piss, wash hands, change clothes, go back to my desk, shut down my computer, take my keys, wallet, bike computer, take my bag, then head for the stairs. Go down the stairs, head for the locker room, then I open my locker's door, remove my shoes, put on my cycling shoes, put on my gloves, walk to the exit, open my wallet, get my magnetic card, open the door, head for the bike rack, put my bag on a chair, take my keys, unlock my bike, lock my bikelock to the rack, put my wallet and keys in my bag, close my bag, look at my bike, then i figure out i have forgot to fill my bottle with water, re-open my bag, get my keys, my wallet, head for the entrance, open my wallet, take my magnetic card to open the door, go to the kitchen, fill my bottle with water, go to the exit door, open the door with card, go back to my bag, put my keys and wallet back in the bag, put my helmet on, put my bag on, THEN I CAN FINALLY LEAVE and head home. Well... all this takes only 5 minutes

I change clothes, toss my crap in my bag, put on my helmet and mp3 player and go. If it's over about 95 degrees, I'll make sure there's some water in the bottle, otherwise I don't bother, it's only 11 miles.

I get changed, pull the half filled water/gatorade bottle out of the fridge, and ride home.

Sometimes I need to unplug the battery charger for my light.
