Large Size Seat Bag

Does anyone have a large size seat bag for commuting that they would suggest?

I am riding with only the basics in a smaller size seat bag but would like to start taking my lunch (eating in the cafeteria every day gets expensive). I thought about making some kind of DIY saddle bag out of a REI Flash Pack that I had sitting around but can't figure how to tie it off to my Brooks saddle.

I would like to stay away from a backpack or messenger back (for comfort and to reduce heat) and don't want to go the route of rack and pannier.

Similar to the Carradice bags: Acorn Bags.

Not as much capacity but very light-weight and you won't notice it all on your bike, even though it includes a tiny seatpost rack. Also very inexpensive compared to most other options: Nashbar Pack System (only works with 27.2mm seatposts, though).

If you go to through home page, they have an update that says they will be accepting orders again in the first week of August - so just a few more weeks, if you can wait.

Carradice Junior. 9L capacity, attaches to your brooks. No pockets, just a big open space. Very well made. Anything larger than that requires the bagman support. I have one and love it.

Acorn is too small a company at this time. I wanted my bag in June and they quoted a delivery in October. They make nice bags, if you are willing to wait.

I wish Arkel would see this niche and begin offering large seat bags. They make really nice frame mount / rail mount bags.

Look at a one of the Carradice so called "long flap" bags.
I ordered a nelson from SJC in UK.
It took about three weeks to arrive, total cost was about $100 with shipping and exchange.
Got it for my teenage son to use on a sagged tour and commuting in college; so far it has
worked well for him.

If you wear your work clothes and just want room for lunch:

If you want to carry more, I'd recommend a rack and panniers. You could get a giant bag, but usually it needs some support to keep it off of the back wheel.
