Funky Water

My water Bottle water tastes funny, kinda plasticy. Does anyone else have this problem? I have run the bottle through the dishwasher a few times, did that some how degrade the plasic? I empty it and rinse it at least every other day. Are there better quality water bottles that wont affect the taste of my water?
The ones I have now are Imprinted with the LBS logo so i was wondering if they bought really cheap bottles from china or somewhere.

Thanks
Joe

I use Powerade bottles. As long as you don't use them for hot beverages, there is no unusual flavor. They are dishwasher safe on the top rack, but any plastic might become disfigured near the heating element.

They seem to last and last.

I have gotten some free bottles that really reak. Like you said, it has this really nauceous plasticy smell to them and I refuse to use them so they sit there, they become house plant waterers...

Personally, water bottles are aplenty, no point in using those that smell that sick, in my opinion...

Now to avoid the black stained bottles on the outside, use steel water bottle cages (or Ti or Carbon....) and not the standard aluminum cages...

I've had those water bottles before and they reek bad. Have you tried soaking them in water/baking soda?

I use the poland spring sports bottles, 50 cents each and I can use em for 1-2 weeks before I junk em.

You can put booze in those lexan nalgene water bottles and they won't acquire a taste.

Sigg also sells coated aluminum sports bottles that come in like 8 different colors along with bare aluminum, which matches my bike really well.
