Here is my new DeLorean. LOL! I mean Trek Crossrip LTD. I finally got to ride it a little bit today. First time I rode this exact model. Rode a std crossrip to get the fit right and then went for the one I had my heart set on. Really felt good. I upgraded the tires to Schwalbe Marathon Supremes.

I know a lot of folks are down on Trek but, this one ticked all of the boxes for me. I liked the long wheelbase as well as the disc brakes. I pushed the budget a bit to go ahead and get the 105 derailers/shifters. Its also the primary brand the LBS sells so, the service should be easier/better.

    My commuting loadout:

    GT Traffic 5.0
    Uvex Viva Helmet
    Pearl Izumi Pro Softshell Lite
    Camelbak Podium Big Chill
    Ibera Bottle Cage
Topeak Super Tourist DX Rack w/ Bungee Net
    Ultrafire WF502B w/ Como Mount
    Kryptonite Bike Lock
    First Aid Kit
    Planet Bike Blinky

The bungee net didn't work out as well as I'd hoped... Gotta find a better way to carry my notebooks and such.

lol whut, a car's never done! I don't do anything to my Integra like I used to, other than just keep it up and running, but I still frequent H-T since I joined 13 years ago.

We actually have a Honda-Tech cycle group on Strava, and some on-going road, MTB, and commuter bike threads in H-T's GDD forum.

I use a Wald medium sized basket (137?). It is held down with zip ties and I use a cargo net on top.

I do not recommend the Gamoh porteur rack at all. As I said I have two and I have broken two brackets that hold it onto the brake bold/fork crown. After the first one broke I put the a toe strap around the rack and my head tube in case. I am glad I did as the second one broke and the strap held it up. Do a Google search on Gamoh rack and broken and you will find others. This isn't a one of occurrence. The first break scared the crap out of me, when my rack pivoted down and was acting like a snow plow. Lucky I didn't crash.

The other thing I don't like is how high it sits up over the front wheel. There is no need for that and gets in the way of cables etc. The Velo Orange sits much lower and the Pass and Stow in my opinion is perfect. That is going to be my next purchase, a Pass and Stow Porteur rack.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll take that rack off of my list of ones to consider.

I can't call it a commuter bike, but I went a few places on it Sunday, through city streets and along the bike path. The streets were snowy, and the bike path was very icy. I fell twice in the ice and switched back to the street.

    One could commute on it.

Here's mine. Slow and steady upgrades to an 80s step-through Nishiki road bike frame that my family overhauled for me because they rock. She needs a new derailleur, and I'm in the process of getting a new seat.

Pretty cool. Although you should get some red cable housing; if you ever take the panniers off, the red bar tape would look arbitrary against the all-black background. (although looking closer, I guess that is a red bottle cage too?)

It has a red bottle cage, yes. It's not an urgent purchase right now, but when I have some extra funds for gussying up my bike, I'll probably get some red cable housing.

My newly finished "back-up" commuter which is currently my primary as the kuwie has decided it needs to be completely rebuilt. So on that note be ready for a new and improved kuwahara.

specialized hardrock single speed, all outfitted for commuting of course. I managed to find the right gearing to get chain tension perfect, I have an uphill ride in to work so I wanted it low enough gearing to climb with bags in it, but high enough to be able to cruise with a fairly low cadence.

    And non-commuter

    Hi all

Just joined this forum. Here's a pic of my 7.2 fx. Nothing fancy, but I do receive plenty of compliments on it, even from non-cyclists.

Usually I commute in stretchy bicycle clothes but on days I don't shave, I wear jeans.

Since this pic I have moved the stem up one spacer, but flipped it down. Looks much better, I think. Also it will be getting a rack and (hopefully) trunk bag fairly soon. Already have the seat post clamp sitting at the LBS with rack attachments on it.

My new foul weather commuter. It also doubles as my foul weather weekend warrior. I am loving the disc brakes when coming down the steep hills of Seattle in the rain.
