Yeah it's the Muirwoods 29er and I absolutely love it. It's such a tank but I can get some nice speed on it. You can get a 2013 on ebay right now for cheap too. I paid $449 for mine shipped but you can take a stab at auctions and I've seen it go for as low as $300 shipped.

I've posted pics of my Salsa before. I built the bike back in 2011 using a combination of new and used parts from a donor bike. I decided to do some upgrades over the winter. I added a new Ultegra rear der, Salsa Cowbell bars, Salsa seat post, Blvd Pedals, Ultegra BB, red Chris King headset, Salsa red liplock seat clamp and a set of SKS 50 Longboard fenders. Those fenders are huge. I took it out for a shakedown run tonight. No major issues....Here are a few pics....

New commuter build. Moved some of the good parts from the old commuter and moved them to the new one.
`1985 Trek 830
-New 2.0 Bontrager triple flat protection tires
-New Fenders
I am really liking the ride of the 2.0 balloon tires with 65PSI. Feels about the same as the old 27x1 1/4s on the old ten-speed.
Also getting to really like the lower gearing on this Trek. That Schwinn gearing was definitely taller.

Giant Escape 1 Hybrid, stock, white, Picked it up today. I will turn this into a commuter and light touring bike. It is my only bike. Will be putting on fenders. Looking for a rear rack & bag.

It's a Topeak Tour Guide bag. Yes, it does get in the way of the light but not by much. It's already mounted low with a Thorn accessory bar. I may try lowering it even further. I tried mounting the light below but it's inconvenient.
I like this bag because it has lots of pockets: two on sides, one up front, and two in the cover with mesh divider and lots of little pockets meant for credit cards and the like but I use them for alcohol wipes and Wet Ones. The main compartment is padded and has an adjustable padded divider for a phone fits iPhone 5 and will fit a much larger phone too plus another pocket. Lots of places to stash stuff and keep little things from getting mixed up. The only negative is that it sags somewhat when heavy.
And the clock is Stem Captain.

They make them now more like drybags, with roll-tops which makes them less convenient for commuting IMHO. So yeah, these older ones are the perfect size for commuting. The Champlains are larger and have an extra external pocket, but they're too big for commuting.

The Cross Check continues to morph...
We finally got some rain in California, so I installed the fenders I had been sitting on for about a year. The installation process was an exercise in frustration, but now that they're on they work really well. Will probably remove them again in May as that's when our dry season usually begins.
I also went from a double to a triple crankset since I use this for bike camping and short tours, and I was sort of yearning for a triple on the last couple trips. Really missing the relative simplicity of the double crank for normal riding though. Not sure what to do about that.

Brennan your bike looks great.
Mine is almost done with the upgrades I did. Need to wrap the bars and put my fender and rack back on, and add my new dynamo lights.
