Updated bike pic. I got the bar tape on. It looks good and rides nice. Now I just need rain gear. It's suppose to rain all week.

very...interesting way of doing the brifters on the bullhorns. i'd love to know how the functionality goes with them like that.

The breaking is excellent. The shifting is different but not odd. So far it's working well and It's fairly comfortable. I haven't gone on any long rides with it but when I do I will post how it went.

I have been riding the BMC AC01 Alpenchallenge with 8 speed Alfine IGH and Gates center channel belt drive for 1 1/2 months now. It has some unique features, some of which are nice, some in the PITA category.
The sheet metal fenders and mounts are proprietary Curana and intended to be snap-on and off. Based on some comments on the Evans bicycle website, I purchased this fender kit knowing that it would be permanent, and have been happy with the results, just enough fender and no rattles.
The 2013 Alpenchallenge has rack eyelets, but the 2014 does not. I was not aware of this when I purchased the bike, and needed to do a fair amount of research and tinkering to get a pannier rack mounted without clamps. Thule Chariot axle nuts with the Tubus Fly rack extension plate do the job, but I had to hack the nipples off the axle nuts and drill larger diameter holes in the stainless steel rack extension to finish the mount. The aluminum stabilizing rod that came with the rack fits nicely into the seat post clamp.
The Sparse headlight and tail-light are also made to permanently mount on this bike. They are great for visibility (being seen), but the headlight is useless as a torch, so I strap a flashlight on the handlebars for night riding.
With the short chainstay length and minimal rack, my Ortleib Office pannier clears my heels by just an inch, very happy with that. The tight fender clearances will accommodate a 30mm winter stud tire, but not the 35mm tire that I have from my older commuter. So I must decide whether to get the Nokian A10 or the Schwalbe Winter Studded in the smaller width, feedback is appreciated!

Interesting project, I like the overall clean look.
I happen to have been looking at overhead imagery of Zurich recently, looks like a nice place to bike. Although I'm not sure I'm strong enough to Challenge any Alpen with only an 8sp IGH...

Here's my Troll, finally back in winter commuter mode after spending most of the summer as a 650B hardtail. Here it's rigid, dynamo lit, 26", with fenders and a small front rack for carrying my lunches. My ride home today as in the first snow of the season.

The 11 speed IGH can be had for only 700 bills more.....that's a bawgen at $233.33 per gear...maybe it's would seem better deal in Euros or Swiss Francs.

It's actually a Trek 9th District. It came with a 9 speed 11-32 cassette and a 44 chainring. Earlier this year I swapped the 44 for a 38. When I bought it in 2013, my LBS was going to make me a great deal on a Livestrong version of the bike. It was black with yellow accents, but I liked the green better.
I do have a Trek Soho S too. I sometimes still commute on it, it's now my grocery-getter and bar-hopper. It's the last bike I'll part with.
