Thanks! Yeah a 2007 520. I'm just taking a break on my round the world at the moment. Got a job at Thorn cycles in the UK, so I swapped the drops for the Trekking bars.

Here's the bike I just built in time for winter!
Nexus 8R25 (Red Line) on a Surly 1x1 with Alfine shifter! I'm telling you it's a dream to ride on!
I still have some adjustments to do on the dash and my 18T sprocket hasn't arrived yet (not it's a 21T).
The owner of the bike shop even said that they'll be ordering Nexus 8 equipped bikes since he's so amazed!
The pictures don't totally do justice to the amazing green of the frame, I did my best with the lighting nature gave me on this overcast day.
The Alfine shifter is amazing.
My beloved Brooks B-17.
The black Nexus 8R25.
I'm amazed that it makes no noise, except when free-wheeling. It's awesome compared to the noisy Nexus 3 that's on my father's bike.

The hose clamps are there to hold the trailer hitch. The rod is part of it.
They're a bit too long now (it's annoying when you put panniers on) but I'll cut them as soon as I get the proper hardware for it.

That is a sweet ride you put together. I put together a black surly 1x1 this past summer with the same drive train (nexus redline) and the alfine shifter. It is indeed a very nice ride. I ended up selling it to a close friend of mine who loves it. I am thinking about building up another one when the orange 1x1 is released. I'll take a few pictures when I see my friend tomorrow and post them here.

It's been a great do-everything bike, but after 4000 miles of using it as pretty much my only ride, I'm realizing my priorities are shifting a little bit (newfound cyclocross addition) so I'm selling the Jamis, buying a dedicated cross bike, and this winter break I'll be building my old bridgestone into a commuter/tourer on the cheap.
When I first got it I had this vision of doing lots of touring, which just hasn't really panned out.
