Man, back in high school, I used to go slime sliding in that drainage ditch. There was some sort of outfall pipe that dripped water down the concrete side (I think it's actually visible in that picture by the Paseo bridge), leaving a nasty trail of slime. We used to try and surf down on our feet, inevitably falling on our asses. If I ever get a tumor, I'm blaming that ditch (and my own stupidity).

It's nice to see pictures of the North Valley covered in snow. It sure makes for a lovely ride.

I have a hard time posting pics.........never figured out how to do it........though I have a photobucket account............just need one of my kids to show me how............

Great photos.......reminds me that, for me, snow makes EVERYTHING look better. I love everything about snow............shoveling, slipping and sliding (especially tele skiing), driving in it, biking in it, walking in it, eating it (especially tele skiing :-)), hearing it, smelling it, feeling it, looking at it............Winter is my favorite season...........wood stoves, hot chocolate, wool sweaters, this holiday season, and much much more.........Don't think I would be as happy in an environment where you have to drive to the mountains to experience it most of the time.........I love living in snow....

Nice ride.........is that a fixed or ss? studded tires? how far is your commute? what kind of horses?

So, thanks.........

I'll contribute. 12 inches or so this morning in Flagstaff, AZ. Don't even have studded tires yet, no problem getting to work this morning:

Probably the same system that got Albuquerque. And it's not done yet. They are predicting up to 28 inches by the end of Thursday here...

I apologize for my lack of knowledge of geography and my laziness in googling.......
Albuquerque, NM-how much snow do you get in the local area and how far are you from the ski mtns and which ones? You aren't close to TAOS (I know, a four letter word for steep).............are you?

Cool, thanks for sharing. I was in Albuquerque last January for work and hiked up to the tram. There was a little snow, especially higher up. Very pretty. I also jogged along that same path you posted photos of.

2 1/2 hours from TAOS, 1 hour from Santa Fe

Y'all should come down and visit; it is a very special place.

Snow in the Metro Albuquerque is rare and far between.

Mountains get most of the precipitation, specially the ones that show pine forests.

Top of the ski area in Santa Fe is well over 10,000 feet.

I'll add more from Flagstaff too. This is the first time I've ridden to work with more than 4 inches of snow on the ground right after it fell. Pictures are from the ride home. It was fun!
