Heck no, jzam0r and rednek, keep that snow there for me. I plan on invading the Snowbowl sometime in January, and want the lovely white stuff to keep me company.

I'm debating an inexpensive helmet cam (GoPro or the like) to run amok with. My commute isn't that interesting, but I'd run around on the local singletrack and whatnot, and other general tomfoolery. Today would have made a good one, though. Nice and rainy.

Hehe. This is the first significant snow of the season, and it's like two months late. I want to keep it here too!

Off to ride to work in it again!

Thurs will be 2nd straight snow-day for schools. Not sure why I thought there might be school, it's not like they plowed or anything today.

I need to get some better rope to pull the kids on the toboggan behind the pug.

Thought I'd post some follow up pics. It has been snowing nearly non-stop since Monday. Thursday morning I awoke to find that another big storm had dumped another foot or so overnight on top of the foot we had by Tuesday morning.

Thursday morning ready to roll to work.

On the way in.

Bike path along the only major road. Ended up riding the road.

Winter kickstand at work.

Winter self.

Thawing.

Total about 24-28 inches. Looks like it's mostly over. Gotta love the snow.

That white stuff sure is purdy. And it must be fun on "play days" too. Here is a shot of my Pugsley last week in New Orleans during a very rare snowfall where my "beach bike" became a snow machine! (It was quite fun leaving big, fat tire tracks all over town).

BTW... it's back up to 75°F today.

Awesome photos......I really wanted to ride in the snow this week, but my MTB isn't fixed right now and there's no way I could have made it out of Rio Rancho without some decent tires. I've got some Nokian winter tires on order right now, so hopefully, the problem will be solved soon.

I like the Albuquerque photos! I ride those trails every day on my commute to Kirtland AFB when the weather and my schedule allows.

No pics of the commute itself, but pics of the area and the bike after riding 6 miles through about 6 inches of snow. I rode sidewalks because drivers were sliding out all over the place and I figured it was one of the very few situations where I was safer on the sidewalk.

Bike is a 1993 GT Talera.

I'll See if I can make this work:

Start of the ride:

Pre Traffic Circle:

Corner where Van lost it, right before Van goes by:

Last hill on the way to work...is this a road or a ski run?

Finally at work:

I tried to repeat that specific ride yesterday w/ fresh snow (ice sheet over settling powder, more like) and only ski trails from the weekend rather than icy footprints of a weekday (the mup is a highway for all kinds of traffic). Between trees falling before and behind me and the pedals and my shoes getting totally glommed up, I couldn't get as far. And boy are my shins bruised right now. Will have to try it again w/ boots, see if they bring less snow into the pedals than the cleatier bike shoes.

Otherwise it's mostly been burning around the neighborhood pulling kids on the toboggan:

I've only been wearing bike shoes outside the neighborhood and after all the glop yesterday I think they are just about to retire until the snow is gone (xmas maybe they're telling us)

How did you take that action shot Clifton? I've definitely been finding myself surfing the ruts a lot on that kind of road, a 2-handed driving thing for sure.

Awesome photos! Thanks for sharing! I will keep these images in mind when I start complaining about commuting with temps in the mid-30's here in South Texas!
