Mid work day commute

Drove my car into work today because there was a chance that I would have to bring my daughter back to College later in the day. I talk to her at 9am and says that she no longer needs a ride. So I'm looking outside and checking the weather forecast and decide to go home for lunch and ride the bike back for the afternoon. Might be the last decent weather for a few days so I was glad that I did it. Its about a 25 mile r/t. Am I going off of the deep end here? Maybe, but like I said the weather today is going to be quite nice, right around the freezing point, sunny and only a light breeze.

My round-trip is only about 7.2 miles. And I ride home for lunch most days. Often if I have an appointment on either side of lunch, I'll split my method of transportation for the day so I can use my bike for at least part of the day.

Due to various situations, I have only ridden once this week, and I was supposed to work from home tomorrow because my wife is out of town and someone has to be there when the kids get home from school. However, I got a reminder email this morning that I have a dentist appointment at noon tomorrow. Since the dentist is close to work, I get to ride in in the morning, then go home after the dentist and work from home the rest of the day, so it's the opposite mid-day commute as you.

22 mile round trip for me, FWIW.
