Spring 2009 Line-up

Any one else spend time during those dark winter months reconfiguring the stable in time for spring? I just finished all the tinkering this weekend so I thought I'd share.

Daily Commuter Tank - I threw everything I could on it including racks, basket, fenders, mud-flap, chainguard, mirror, kickstand, and even a tow hitch. My LHT weighs a ton:

Sunday Rider - the atlantis used to have daily commuter duty, but I took all the shtuff off (and put in on the LHT), and installed some nice japanese fujitoshi leather bar wrap. Now I'm using it for faster, unloaded rides:

Token Fixster - Changed out tires, took off the bar tape going for that clean look, threw on some stickers to cover up dents. I use this usually for short unloaded rides, the weekly pub crawl, and getting a work-out around the Rice U velodrome:

Mountain bike - I added a mountain bike (1995 Kona Hot) to my arsenal this winter and tried it out on some trails at Double Lake this wknd. Lots o fun:

I dare say this is the most satisfied I've been with my set of bikes. It's one of those rare moments when I'm not lusting after a new bicycle or some doo-dad. I'm sure this condition will be remedied by next winter though (if not next week).

Anyone else wanna post their Spring 2009 line-up?

What kind of handlebars are those on your LHT? Got a shot of them you'd like to share?

eAspenwood, Sweet rides!

I'd love to see some close-ups of the "tank". Specifically, I'd like to see how you mounted the basked on the the front rack. Also I'd like to see some details about your handlebar setup.

Thanks,
D

Is that a net in your basket? I've been looking for one of those for a while. Where did you get it?

Your bikes look great. I have only one bike (although I do love her greatly), but I am jealous!

I need a kickstand, a cross brake interrupter, and a mudguard and I'm set. Might need to tinker with the new brooks' position a hair or two.....

The only change I'm making to my lineup for the spring is a new stem for my brevet bike:

Currently it's got a 110mm 97/83 and I'm replacing it with a 100mm 115/65 to bring the bars up even with (or just a hair higher than) the saddle).

Nitto North Road Aluminum 560mm from jensonusa. They've more than doubled in price since I bought them there. A better deal is Nitto CrMo Albatross from rivendell cuz its still under $50, and pretty much the same thing, maybe even better cuz i like steel if you couldn't tell.

Sweet! Those handlebars on the LHT are... different.

I've got exactly one bike for all purposes and weathers, and it's butt ugly. But I'm still happy.

I used zip ties (recommended by riv) to attach basket to rack. Works great; Easy to install. I've had no problems with it.

lots of pics of the tank here:
