Funny thing tho. When I am behind the wheel of a car, a large percentage of other motorists are impeding my progress, annoying me, and contesting my space on the road. Even more so than on my bike. I think I would kill myself if I had to drive around this town daily. So it's really win-win for me.

I agree, cars are always in my way, or jetting around me and invading my space, they really dont belong on the road. Cars should be pretty much be outlawed on the road.

Statistically, one of the most dangerous places that most people ever will see is the inside of a bathtub or shower. More people fall and hurt themselves in the bathroom than you could imagine.
With this in mind, and borrowing from the OPs sentiments, I think that nobody should ever enter a bathroom again. People got by for thousands and thousands of years just being dirty, and squatting over holes in the dirt. It is much safer...

Regarding previous business...after consulting with the rest of the Black Star Corps, we have decided not to ban MIKEnDC, but to ban bikes from the roads instead. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Carry on.

Per the LAW in every state bicycles are perfectly legal on all roads unless posted otherwise, with the same rights of use as any other vehicle. Frankly I do not give a rats rectal orifice if some car drivers do not appreciate my being there and I delay them slightly or slow down their commute by a few seconds.
It appears to me that you are trying to say that we should be off the road due to unpopularity with drivers and potentially for reasons of our own safety. My take is that drivers should learn to drive properly and not be texting, talking on their cellphones, driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs and engaging in other non driving related activities which distract them from their primary job, driving.
Go ahead and increase your carbon footprint by driving for your commute but do not try to discourage others from getting some healthy exercise while riding on the street for commuting or whatever purpose they have.

What an entertaining thread! I think the people not getting the joke (or pretending to?) are the funniest bits.

This is the problem. Cars have engines and should thereby have more rights.
Cars have 4 wheels, so they should have twice the rights as a bike.

Yes, thank you for the excellent, albeit tame example.
Another would be 'squirtdad's real name is dribbleboy'.
I hope you learned nothing useful from this post.

If you people say I shouldn't ride my bike on the road that's one more reason for me to do it.
If I had a full carbon bike would that increase my carbon foot print?

Why can't liberal Americans do the same?
Being a 'merkin myself, I ain't giving up my by gawd given right to drive a smoking monster truck 20+ mph over the speed limit and splatting anything in my way.

As long as I don't have to pay for it. Collect your Proof-of-Purchase seals, but leave my hard-earned money alone so I can buy booze, beer and broads....and of course gas, lots of gas.

I'm Italian, Joey. You've deeply offended me. I may ban you, but I need a good cry first.
