Injury for me..two weeks so far.
I know I'm not alone. Misery loves company, let's hear from you.
I may need to buy a car now.

thanks for the wishes and "hard time" is right!
Safety, weather, and schedules. I did about 750 miles last semester, but am around 180 this semester.

For the last week or so my allergies have teamed up with my sinuses in order to overtake my body. I know it sounds like a lame excuse, but if I can't breath I can't ride!
If I could find some use for mucus like as an industrial lubricant then I could be a rich man.

I'm not going to ride in for a couple days this week because I have to haul in party supplies (= a ton of booze).

I skip the commute if I'm sick, but mainly because I can telecommute and avoid infecting the rest of the office. In general I don't mind riding with a cold or such. I do the same if it's snowing heavily (or forecast to) - usually 3-4 days total per winter.
I took a week off once because a small cartilage tear in my wrist was being aggravated by riding, and another week off after I crashed in a race and was missing a lot of skin, especially on my hands.

We're finally getting to the point where I might not even need my balaclava so I feel your pain big time. I was very much looking forward to warmer temps.

Darkness, the trails I ride on have no lights so it's pitch black at night. I'm currently shopping around for a headlight so hopefully this problem will be remedied.

Two H's!!! TWO!!!!!
An injury from 2007 kept me off the bike (and generally very miserable) for several months. It still prevents me from the grand "coast-to-coast" tours I envisioned prior to it.
There, hope it makes you feel better now.

My front tire is flat, and I'm the type of rider who's inept at changing tubes- car tires I can change, but bike tires? Forget it! The night I was going to see if I could raise the handlebars. In doing so, I detached the fork and the bars from the stem. I spent a good hour trying to figure out why the fork went one way, and the bars were floating from the left to the right- Oh! so that's what that hex screw is for!

There's lots of effective, cheap lighting available these days so that's an easy fix. Spend some time in the electronics forum and you'll solve your problem fast.

Yes, the weather's less of an issue now. Scheduling, however, will remain an issue until May. I typically have to drive from Tuesday to Thursday each week this term, which leaves Monday and Friday as my only opportunities to ride during the work week. I don't know what fall will bring, but from the looks of it, my riding time may be even less than it is now.
Oh well. One day at a time. :O)

For me, it's wind, over 25 mph= no ride. I live in Kansas! Also temp. below 40 degrees=no ride. (OK, I'm a wimp.)

I was going to say "injury", but then I remembered that I broke my ribs and tore some ligaments in my shoulder last winter and still rode to work the next day. So I was going to say heavy snow with high wind, but then realized I commuted in that too. Bitter cold? Yup. Hmmm, I guess when my wife says it's far too dangerous to ride then I don't ride. So my wife's good sense is about the only thing that keeps me off my bike.

Losing my job, no real need to commute after May 6th. So I will just be going to the store for food and such.

Wife and I bought a farm last year and it's required a LOT of time. Working a 40 hour job and then working on the farm doesn't allow much time for anything else. We did a 40 mile ride today though. Almost killed us since we're so out of shape. The amount of time this took up today cause us to work until 9 tonight to catch up. We do think that once we get things going well, we'll probably have enough time to start riding again more frequently. I do see the days of century rides being a thing of the past.

Okay I did stop commuting to work when the company decided to out source my entire department.
Otherwise last year the only time I didn't commute to work was during Hurricane Ike but then again everything was closed. I did commute during a couple of tropical storms though.

Nothing so far. Sorry. I do drive if I have something very large to carry, or if I have to run an errand that's more than 5 miles or so out of my way. That equates to 1 or 2 days a month, usually.
