Fenders and Schwalbe Big Apples
Got a set of 26 x 2" Big Apples for my Trek SU 2.0 yesterday. I want to throw some fenders on the bike and can't decide between 45 or 60 mm.
I prefer the looks of the 45's but realize it'll take 60 to cover the whole tire.
That being said I have two folding bikes with Big Apples and the water tosses right from the middle of the tires on the Big Apps.
Is 45 enough to keep the road goop off.

I would go with the 60 mm ones. I am running 26x2.0 big apples and it looks fine with 60 mm fenders.

Yeah, my Buzz has 26x2.0 Big Apples and the 60mm Planet Bike Cascadia ATB fenders. I think 45mm would be just a bit too narrow... I had to do some chopping to fit them into the frame though.

The 60mm would give you the coverage you need for 2" tires.
It is always better that they are a little wide than narrow.
If your fenders don't come with mudflaps, be sure to make some.

I have Cascadia 60s over my 2.0 BAs. If you're worried about 60s 'looking' too big (relative to 45s), believe me, w/ those tires, they won't.
