I put about 5000 miles on Specialized Armadillo Elites (23) last year, without a single flat - on crappy roads no less. I also like the Gatorskins & 4 seasons, but don't have as many miles on them. The Vittoria Open Pave is amazing for all-weather and slippery conditions.

Previously I had 23mm conti 4-seasons, which were amazing. Never a flat, very fast, felt good even when the roads were wet. But I wanted wider tires, so I went with the gatorskins... I wish the 4-seasons came in 28mm. Oh well.
You CAN get the all seasons in 28!

This is one place I know folks have ordered from (I have yet to try them) and I'm pretty sure there are other on-line retailers that do as well.

My Cross Check came with 700 x 32 Specialized Hoffalize's, which seem nice and grippy, pretty agressive knobbies. great for sand and trails. I bought 700 x 35 Continental Countryrides, which are smoother on the rolling surface but knobby on the sides, a nice all-purpouse touring tire, i guess--haven't had a chance to use them much yet. and i have 700 x 35 Kenda Kwest slicks that i have yet to mount for commuting. i'll definately need the Mr Tuffie's liners i got to keep the ubiquitous glass shards outta my tube.

You're awesome! Thank you! I will keep this in mind when these wear out or I get frustrated, but I think the tire liners have done a good job so far

Thanks again!

Primo Comet Kevlar (20x1.25 or so) in the front, Schwalbe Kojak (26x1.35")in the rear. The Kojak is awesome - it really soaks up bumps nicely.

3 sets of Schwalbe Marathon Plus' in 2 different sizes. 700x28mm on my Fantom CX and 700x25mm on my 2 conversions. One's a 1x8 Cannondale SR300 and the other's a Fuji Del Rey singlespeed. My fail/safe Specialized Crossroads hybrid has 700x35 Nu-teck airless @ 130 psi. In the process of building up a fixie and will put 25mm SMPs on it as well...I HATE getting flats.

I got over 6000 commuting miles on the 28s and about 1000 ea on the 25s w/1 flat(2" self-starting screw) and recently the same tire(rear on #1 commuter) developed a slow leak, so I replaced it w/a new one. I expect to get the same or better performance. Too bad they don't come in 23mm as I'd have used them on all the conversions. Great tire.

Schwalbe Marathon in 26x1.75 on my mountain bike conversion and Panaracer Pasela TG on a any of the 700c/27" wheeled bikes I have around. I am at 2600 flat free miles on the Marathons to date, with a number of rides through some pretty rough and glass strewn stretches.

Last year I flatted twice on one ride on one of the bikes with the Pasela TGs, but it was my fault for having a just slightly less then perfect rim strip. Once that got replaced I have had no other issues.

I run Maxxis Hookworms on my mountain bike that I turned into a heavy duty hauler after adding front & rear Surly racks. They're a good tire although I found them to be a little more flat prone than the author of a previous post. Earlier this year I got frustrated to the point I've considered going with a thinner Schwalbe Marathon given their reputation for flat resistance (3 flats in 2 weeks with the Hookworms).

The Hookworms definitely give a better, more solid ride than some of the typical balloon size tires, but their massive width means they won't fit a lot of bikes, either by frame or chain clearance. On the plus side, they're a fairly high pressure, low rolling resistance, and shock-absorbing cruiser tire that also corners very well. I wouldn't put them on a standard commuter, but they work great for a grocery hauler/thrift store shopper that I use them for, and I tend to buy a lot of groceries. I'm also a clydesdale.

I've using high pressure Kenda Kwest tires on my fixie and have been very happy with them. Got Kojacks on another bike and have been happy with them too.

Normally run with 28s'. Put 1200 miles on Armadillo all condition 25 slicks
on my 10 spd flat bar. Haven't consciously pushed the cornering zone on
them,but they seem ok.

Currently I'm running Michelin Pro2Race 700 x 25s, which are very fat for a tire that size. They actually measure 27 mm across, and fit so tight on my other road bikes that I hadn't used them in a couple of years. Very comfy, fast and nice handling tires, but unfortunately Michelin doesn't make them like that any more. The new Michi P3Rs are narrower, more expensive and don't wear as well, from what I hear.

Through the winter, I used Continental GP 4000 with reflective sidewalls, also in 25s. They are much narrower than the Michelin 25s but ride just as nice. I got sick of the reflective sidewalls and took them off once the mornings got light again, but will probably reinstall them next fall. When the Michelins wear out this summer, I've got some Panaracer Pasela TG 28s that I plan to use until fall. They are durable, flat resistant and ride nice but have a lot of rolling resistance compared to the Michelins and Contis. I swear, my average speed drops about 1 mph when I used the Panaracers, but they are trustworthy tires.

The next tires I buy will probably be Continental GP 4 Seasons in 700 x 28. I've heard good things about them, and they are very light for a tire that size. It's very hilly on my commute route, so I like to keep the weight down on my wheels as much as possible.

On the folder, Marathon Racers (20x1.5 size). Great tires! They feel much more supple than than the vanilla Marathons and seem to be very durable and puncture resistant, too (I now understand why they're called "Marathon", ha!).

On the road bike I ride Vredstein TriComps (700x23 size). I've found them to be equally awesome for fast group rides (I'd happily race on them if I ever were to race) and on rough NYC commutes.

on My Main Ride I use Schwalbe marathon racer 700x 30 (28)

My prefered tire was the AVOCET carbon 12 slicks in 32 but they wont wrok on my new frame if I use fenders.

I am running Schwalbe Marathons in a 26 by 1.5 and 700:25 and could not be more pleased with these tyres over 1000 km and 5000 km respectively... the roll fast, ride nicely, and I am pretty confident in their ability to prevent flats.

I also run a set of Schwalbe Hurricanes in a 26 by 1.95 and as a mismatched pair (bought a few miles apart) they have seen 10,000 km and 4000 km... you can't tell the difference between the higher and lower mileage tyre and I have never had a flat with these.

The Ultra Sports on my fixed gear refuse to flat either... they have 10,000 km on them.

Schwalbe Marathon 700cx32, but only for longevity, not flat prevention. I haven't had a flat due to a puncture from a road hazard for nearly 2 years. I had a pinch flat earlier this year, and last year I had a sidewall failure from a rotten tire and a bad rim trip failure.

I have Forté FastTrac 26x1.90 from Performance. I don't like them. They're ok on grip, but they are prone to flats. No flats yet, but there has to be at least a dozen small holes in each of my tire. If I didn't have that lining stuff (what's it called?) between my tire and tube, I swear I'd have a flat every week.
