Today's lesson (Hot Days & Killer Sweat)

(this was actually from a couple of days back)

- bring extra water
- wipe out excess sweat from the face
- avoid bugs
- keep mouth closed, specially when biking through a swarm of bugs
- if you are wearing glasses, don't bike to fast, else you will get the same dead bug splats on your glasses as you do when you drive on the highway.
- bring some wet wipes for your glasses, extremely hard to get off with a dry shirt / paper.

... arrived home with lots of dead bugs stuck to my face, i looked like a swamp monster, no wonder some by standers on the bus stops were laughing their ass off. took me 3 good washes with soap to get it all off.

28C (87F) is a "hot day"?

I think most of our southern friends reading this are going to be face-palming.

But it does take some getting used to.

Wipe out excess sweat from everywhere and keep hydrated. Heat rash (especially on the groin) is not cool.

It'll be about 95 for my ride home today. Not as bad once I get along the river and catch some shade, but the first six or seven miles are pretty exposed. I'm going through my second 1.5L water of the day, and have two 24 oz polar bottles in the fridge here at work just waiting to roll.
