Commuter Panniers Reccomendations?

I'm a college student and my mountain bike is my only set of wheels. When I finally discovered that there was a better way to buy groceries than to pack them into my backpack and pedal off, I was ecstatic!

I was hoping for some input on good (and inexpensive) grocery panniers! I was looking at the Avenir Metro 2.0 Shopping Pannier (1, 100 - Cubic Inches). I like that it's mesh so it dries fast in the rain, but would you think that it may lost it's shape easily or sag under the weight of a gallon of milk?
Also, to be a bit honest...I would like something a little more colorful. Though, beggars can't be choosers, and I would be delighted to hear some experienced input!
Thank you very much!

just keep in mind what kind of rack you select if you have a full suspension bike.

Haha! that 2nd link pictures the panniers mounted on the bike backwards. Classy. Note the side with the angle cut out of the corner should face forward so your heal doesn't kick it, and the reflective strip should face backward so cars don't kick you.

The Avenir pannier you're looking at is known generically as a grocery pannier.

Nashbar's grocery pannier, they call it the Townie Basket, is currently on sale for $17 each. I own a pair and I load 'em up once or twice a week for over three years now. Very similar to the Avenir ones. Basic, cheap, durable. There are nicer ones out there, but none with the same bang for the buck.

According to the catalog I got today, if you use the coupon code DEAL2 between July 20 and 26, you can get 20% off a single item.
