Cleaning your trusty steed

Hello! So, my poor metal friend is lost underneath 8 years of dirt and grime and I need to show it a little more love (okay, maybe a lot more).
I've bought one of those Park chain scrubbers, but what else do I need? Does anyone swear by a certain brand? Also, how often do you clean your bike?

Thanks in advance!

yea...when I first got the bike I just kind of figured the rain and whatever would take care of all of that...
I feel bad for being so inconsiderate.

I wash it once a month. Seems enough to me.

I lube chain and clean sprockets twice a week, on average.

I got this citrus degreaser by I think it's by Pedro (orange can) from my LBS and Liquid Ice as a chain lube. And went to work on the bad weather bike. I though my crankset was black (as the bike is black) but after the degreaser I find it's silver.

Man did this stuff do a job! Took all that gunk off the dereailers and then I put the Liquid Ice on the chain and let it set a day. This baby rides so smooth, I can't even hear it.

Instead of allowing grime to build up I simply give my bike a quick wipe down after each ride. The bike always looks clean and shiny this way.

Why clean it? It's just gonna get dirty again!
