My Brother is Awesome

I don't know where this goes but I figured here was well enough as we all deal with this stuff more than some other forum areas. Please move if there is a better fit.

So my younger brother drives a truck for Customs and Border patrol here in DC and was coming out of a parking lot in Woodbridge this afternoon when he got the chance to make a citizen arrest.

This jetta in front of him came up to the stop sign and just blew through. In doing so she hit a hispanic guy on a bike and then gunned it to get away. So little bro hits the skinny pedel on the right and takes the truck (think size of deuce and a half) down the road and blocks out the jetta so she can't get away. While someone else calls the po-po.

This being the greater DC metro, the police took around 10 minutes to show up. And in that time the lady got out of the car and was banging on his and two other car windows (they joined in to block behind her) asking what she did and was trying to use emotions to get out of the situation. Now, little background... little bro in a former life was a SERE instructor. So the more emotion you show him in panic.. the colder he gets and the less he talks. Poor lady didn't have a chance.

As she was being cuffed for hit and run, I am told the police yelled at him to shut up because in a very loud voice he asked "how them cuffs feel?"

BTW, hispanic dude... was just banged up but nothing serious.

Awesome bro awesome. Thanks!

Note: co-worker called to tell me after hearing about it. He may not ride a bike much but heck he is looking out for us.

As the

You do have an awesome brother. I hope there is always somebody like him out there watching out for us. Give him a big, juicy kiss for me.
(It's ok, I'm a girl.)

that I don't know about the bike, I will have to ask. He did walk away with it. there were also dents on the hood of the car I am told so I imagine there had to be something.

With some of the other stories I have read, I am surprised the police didn't show up and arrest your brother for kidnapping and cite the bike rider for getting hit.

Police see the DHS plates and his id and don't want to deal with the paperwork. It is funny. Three months ago He had someone cut him off on the beltway and rear ended them. The police that showed up were more pissed about having to write up the extra paperwork than anything else.

Good story, great guy, glad to know justice is served. But--if I saw someone get hit by a car I don't think my first instinct is "go nab the person responsible" but rather "make sure the guy isn't hurt". I wasn't there, though.
