Joey Brooks - Bike Messenger?? (VIDEO)
This one is a bit different and features some places not filmed by me until now.
A friend asked (begged) me to deliver some important paperwork for her Downtown early in the AM because she knows I commute close to the CBD anyway and driving a car down there typically sucks. After I agreed, I realized that basically I had the chance to be a bike courier at last, so might as well film it. I picked mostly streets devoid of traffic and timed my arrival 15 minutes after the morning traffic mayhem (just like a real messenger). I did OK.
On the way to work after my delivery, I took a nice slow ride down Bourbon Street and looked around a bit. So those of you who have never been down here can check out that sleazy road in broad daylight. Locals stay away from Bourbon St in droves BTW. It's a Tourist Thang.
Have Fun!

You gonna eat that?
Meh. I know someone who took pics of his little girls in front of a sign that said something like, "Transvestite Girls All Day!" It was either in NOLA or Memphis; I can't recall. It was pretty funny.

I got to check out the Vieux Carre early last month when I was in New Orleans for a convention. Bourbon Street was definitely slumming. Lots going on and interesting stuff to see and some good music coming out onto the street, but unless you are interested in getting drunk I didn't see much to hang around for. Other streets were cool, and I ate at some of the restaurants.
I was impressed with the quantity of bicyclists I saw all over New Orleans as well.

No, I think Morrison would have been cool with Billy Idol.
Rumor has it that one night Billy came out of his hotel room onto the balcony when a crowd of
fans had gathered below, and led the crowd in an A cappella rendition of "Rebel Yell"...in the nude.
I'm sure Morrison would have approved.

Fresh Garbage
surely the original is 100x better but, in my head, the song did something for the video that I don't really know how to explain.
