get rid of the "special" pedals and wear regular shoes. I never fall over.

I have Time MTB pedals and Keen Commuter sandals. I've fallen a few times. This time I was making a sharp turn and just ... stopped moving. I don't know why. Next thing I knew I was on my side. Best part is it was between classes in front of my office building and no fewer than 582 people saw this happen.

I call that the flop of fame. I did the flop at an intersection in the spring. I was coasting up to a red light and had already unclipped, but what I didn't realize was that when I rested my cleat on the pedal l it had been a perfect shot and I had clipped back in. Unfortunately for me, I didn't realize it until I had come to a complete stop.
The best way to handle that situation is to spring to your feet, raise your arms like you're signaling a touchdown, yell Ta-dah!, and finish with a bow. Don't forget the bow, it's crucial.

LOL, Flop of Fame! I almost did it in my Keens a few weeks ago, they don't snap out of the pedal like my MTB shoes, a little too flexy....

Lol. I'll join this club! I can't remember the last time I 'crashed' other than the stupid stunt last week. Mine was a last minute decision to change direction, going really slow at a stop light (slightly moving track stand), hit a pebble in the road. Down she goes! No worries. Nary a scratch...except my bar tape. There's $12 I get to spend.

Did the same thing yesterday. New LHT with Big Earl pedals. Just got a milkshake from the ice cream stand and was turning R onto the MUP. Had to watch my right turn, as pedal strikes are an issue. As a result, I swung too wide and clipped a wooden pole on my L with the other pedal. Went down a$$ over teakettle, scratched my frame, elbow and worst of all, lost my ice cream.
I did manage the tuck, roll, jump up and 'Ta-Da' move, though. I've had a lot of practice over the years...
Those dam big pedals are coming OFF.

the other day, I was sprinting to make it through a left turn light before it could turn red with pedestrians everywhere, but as I went screaming around the corner I hit a patch of sand and started to fall. As a result of the falling sensation I overcorrected, pointed directly at the sidewalk, jumped the curb and went through a crowd of pedestrians right to a fence where I managed to wedge my front wheel between a fence and a fence post. I couldn't fall over because my bike was stuck standing upright.
A few people asked if I was ok, but most were laughing under their breath. But I didn't crash because I was still upright!

That's awesome.
Wish mine could have been that smooth.
Instead, my fall was all angular and thrashing and flailing elbows and knees.
It must have looked something like a horse falling from a chair into a ditch.
