It started out being short for no motor, no Zen when I was a biker, but that wouldn't fit so I shortened it to no motor? Turns out I was wrong about the no Zen part, so it's just as well I didn't get what I wanted again.

Name of a Smashing Pumpkins song. I thought the story behind it was funny. Billy Corgan met some girl at a party and thought she said her name was Starla. Turns out she was saying "it's Darla."

I have some "Trick" bikes... as in clever, crafty or fancy, and can do a few bicycle / unicycle stunts. Depending on who you talk to, neither may be so amazing. Hence the "Almost".
On a car forum I was "AlmostStock" because that's the way I liked my muscle cars, so AlmostTrick was just kind of a spinoff.

I thought this one was obvious, until I started getting PM's from BF members encouraging me to "hang in there because there must be somebody out there that is right for me." They got the part about a hot potato being dropped a lot (hot potato still is a kids game?), but I meant it in the cycling sense, not in relationships. Go figure.

My name is Ron and I'm 6'4", ~ 240 pounds....Big Ron. I have an unfortunate habit of ruining the rear rims on my road bikes, hence the "rim crusher".

First 4 letters of my last name, first initial and my birthday (10/13). Not terribly creative.

When I was 20 I briefly got labeled with a knick of Snake, from Snake Pliskin from Escape from New York. I was only called that for about a year or so but once I started using it for the internet, I just never stopped.

Yes, the tire is bald.....
I'm not; and it's a good thing because comb-overs are silly, and I don't think I have the kind of skull that would look good shaved.

Means "famous spear" from the Germanic elements hrod "fame" and ger "spear". The Normans brought this name to England, where it replaced the Old English cognate Hroðgar (the name of the Danish king in the Anglo-Saxon epic 'Beowulf'). It was a common name in England during the Middle Ages. By the 18th century it was rare, but it was revived in following years. The name was borne by the Norman lords Roger I, who conquered Sicily in the 11th century, and his son Roger II, who ruled Sicily as a king. Why?
Oh yeah, B is my last initial.

In 1912, Jean Metzinger painted my favourite piece of art, which hangs in the Peggy Guggenheim gallery in Venice. A poster of this is framed on my wall and is also in my avatar.

Mine means I used to use my real name, but some people I know got offended because I said something and they thought it could be tracked back to them, so I opened a new account.

My wife lived in New Orleans before we got married. Her first winter in South Dakota almost killed her, yet she noted that I would go outside and work in sub-zero temps for hours at a time without issue. So she started calling me her "Tundra Man". Years later when this internet thing came around I started using it as a screen name for everything.

Way back in middle school, my friends determined that I was the cow God because I like cows. Then I just added a salutation and my favorite number (since, when I originally created the username way back then, MrCowGod was already taken by somebody on whatever server I was creating the username). The 15 just stuck over the years.

You gonna eat that?
I used to go by Paul_H on another forum (my real name). But I decided I wanted a more generic nickname (although I can't remember why anymore). At the time, my wife was teaching a Sunday school class, and one of the kids couldn't say our last name, so he used to call her Mrs. Doohickie. I decided that it was a pretty good moniker and started using it on several forums. Although it's a fairly common term, it is rarely used as a username, so it's usually available when I register at different sites.

Drops small screws
I wrote a series of mystery novels with an electronic musician main character, and his email address was noteon (a "note on" is the MIDI command that's sent when a key is depressed on a synthesizer keyboard). I didn't want anybody else to have my character's username, so I started using it.

"Bovine" is my longtime internet handle that comes from a bad inside joke between myself and some high school friends involving a picnic table, a river, and winter camping (don't ask). I added the "Dr" part when I got my PhD, just to sound more obnoxious.
